Help Children in Northern California Hear That Jesus Loves Them

And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard, and how are they to hear without someone preaching?

Romans 10:14

Giving Tuesday began on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving in 2012.

It started as a simple idea: to encourage people to pause during the busy holiday season, and remember the communities and charities important to them.

It has now grown into a global generosity movement, with millions of people using this day to demonstrate kindness, compassion and support.

What is CEFNorCal doing this Giving Tuesday: November 30?

Millions of children in Northern California don’t yet know that Jesus loves them.

That’s why we’re raising funds as part of this campaign to take the Gospel to children by providing FREE Good News Clubs to EVERY child who wants to attend.

What is The Local Impact of a Good News Club?

Joy. Comfort. Guidance. Courage, Safety.

And the knowledge that Jesus Loves them.

Our Good News Clubs operate in over 300 Public Schools, over 48 counties in Northern California.

These after-school activity clubs provide precious moments of peace in chaos.

Today, children never know what they will face on any given day, but they can always count on us to be there for them, to provide:

  • A warm welcome
  • Unconditional love
  • Fun and games
  • The truth of the Gospel

We’re passionate about making these clubs available to every child, because…

What is The Local Impact of a Good News Club?

Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

What makes CEFNorCal different?

“My apartment complex hosted a five day club. Although I wasn’t really interested, I went with my younger niece. Each day the teachers would joyfully teach us the gospel and constantly remind us about God’s love. After 5 days I decided to accept Jesus Christ into my life. I was amazed by how much He loved me… I still cherish one of the many promises they taught me: “Jesus will never leave me. The Lord is my helper. -based on Hebrews ch 13 vs 5:6 - this promise has helped me through many difficult situations as I was growing up in my faith.

1: Child safety and parental permission is paramount

Every child gets to hear about Jesus in a safe place and with parental support. All of our teachers and volunteers have passed extensive background checks, and we build relationships with parents, who are always welcome to see our work firsthand. Building trust this way means children have a safe place where they can focus on learning the Gospel.

2: We invest in training and materials to deliver the best experience

We make sure our teachers have the materials, training, and ongoing support to do their best work. This means that our teachers are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and ready to share the Gospel clearly and with integrity.

3: We’re doing local work (with a worldwide impact)

One of the things supporters of CEF NorCal love is that they know the work is being done right in 48 local counties in Northern California, and any funding goes directly to support this work. But we know that the children we help today can heal the world tomorrow as they also grow and share the Gospel with others on their life’s journey.
