I really appreciate having Good News Club come to my classroom each week. Good News Club brings the message that God loves the children, which is very important. The children learn no matter what happens in their lives they can seek help by praying and reading the Bible. They learn they can pray for each other and for their families, and they can show love to their families. They also learn about grace and forgiveness.
The children bring what they learn in club into the classroom. During a lesson on controlling emotions and not fighting, 6-year old Charles told his classmates they could pray and ask Jesus for help. Betty was very shy, and struggled to engage with the teachers and other children in class, but in club she was very engaged, smiled, made eye contact, and answered questions. This year, she is doing much better in the classroom and around other children.
I hope the families of the Good News Club children can benefit as well. The children can share the Gospel, and maybe one day their parents and siblings will be saved.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
