Special Teams

Special Teams

I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness,

filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another. Romans 15:14

There’s been a lot of talk about football in the last couple weeks. Quarterbacks, plays and special teams. Well, we have some special teams of our own!

Each Good News Club site (over 70 in elementary schools and in 2 churches) has a “Special Team.” Each Special Team has at least four trained, screened and fully equipped volunteers to lead children to Christ. What could be more special than that?

Just as coaches prepare players on all teams, we are fortunate to have 3 primary coaches to train our team members. Deborah Naigaga, Training Coordinator, interviews and screens every applicant who applies to our ministry. Then, she schedules trainings with Aaron Keller and Ruth Diaz to meet the staffing needs of each geographic area.

All of our Teacher Trainers instruct in sharing the gospel, teaching Bible lessons, and counseling for assurance of salvation. In addition, Aaron provides weekly Lesson Highlights and uploads them to our volunteer teacher Youtube channel. Our staff also provides curriculum updates each semester.  So, you can see why our Special Teams are so effective in reaching children for Christ!

It takes time and resources to prepare materials, equip the teams with all essential materials plus provide Bibles for each child in the Club. Will you consider a gift gift to support our new volunteer training? You can use the link below to do that today.

The smiling faces above are the newest members of our Special Teams. This group will allow us to start three Good News Clubs in three cities and in two counties. We praise God for the workers He continues to draw to this ministry so children can meet Jesus Christ as their Savior.

With this sports-themed letter, I couldn’t resist sharing this post.

As Christ followers, we understand that everyone will stand before the LORD one day. And, we desire that the children would be able to go church. Sadly, most families are not in church on Sunday morning.

This is why After-School Good News Clubs are so important. For many children it may be the only opportunity to learn about Jesus, who He is and what He did for them. This is especially important while they are young and open to Biblical teaching. Help us reach more children by applying to be on one of our Special Teams.

Praise God with us for:

  1. Every member of our volunteer Special Teams, deployed throughout our service area, reaching children for Christ.
  2. Approval for more school sites that will begin in March.
  3. Cross City Church and the The Frappe House for promoting CEF and the Good News Club ministry this quarter. Please stop by and enjoy a beverage with friends to support them.

Pray with us for:

  1. More people to join us on this mission to reach children for Christ by becoming a monthly donor.
  2. Churches to consider adopting schools and sponsorship of Good News Clubs so that many more children can learn, especially for families who do not attend church.
  3. Additional volunteers to join us! There is plenty of time to teach one to two 6-week Clubs at two school sites to that more children will have an opportunity to learn about Jesus.
