Back to School “But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”We are heading back to school next week to resume Good News Club and begin brand new Clubs at several sites. This week we will meet with our volunteers over three days and in two locations to distribute curriculum, share updates and pray over the teams, schools and the many children who will learn who Jesus is this semester. Last week, we celebrated Ruth Diaz birthday with a potluck lunch and were so grateful that Arianna Knee could join us. Arianna not only volunteered in Good News Club last year, she was a summer missionary and will join our staff in June as a Field Missionary. We missed Deborah Naigaga, Training Coordinator, who was traveling back from visiting her family in Uganda, but it was great to be together and we are all excited about the new year. Preparing for each semester is very time consuming. Trish Wright, Office Supervisor, prepares curriculum sets for every team plus many additional supplies, with the help of our amazing office volunteers: Evelyn, Barbara and Gisele. This is the time of year when every volunteer is “de-activated” in our system while we collect the annual Worker’s Compliance Agreement. Volunteers can’t return to Club without recommitting to serve in accordance with CEF Policies and Procedures. With the large number of volunteers, this takes time and diligence. Trish does a great job! |
