With You Always

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20b

With You Always

Many of us think of Matthew 28 as the chapter of the Great Commission. We use verse 19 often when presenting CEF’s opportunity with the After-School Good News Club. Because our valley is very diverse, I have described that being a missionary volunteer in the public school system allows us to reach children of most nations. We share the Good News of Jesus and make disciples of all who trust in Jesus as their Savior, reaching people of many nations.

Yesterday, I was encouraged even more by my pastor when he focused on verse 20. Regardless of how long you have been a Christ-follower, we are always learning to become more like Jesus. Our spiritual maturity will not reach it’s peak in this life. We can always find more ways to think like Jesus, act like Jesus, respond like Jesus and forgive like Jesus. But what a comfort it is to be reminded that we do not do any of these things in our own power.

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We learn to rely on His presence more and more each day. To trust Him in every situation because of this promise and because of His faithfulness in past circumstances. What a privilege we have to reach children for Christ and share how faithful He has been to us personally, as a witness to this promise. It is confidence in God’s Word, that allows us to face new challenges with unknown implications with the same assurance because He has promised He is with us always! What a mighty God we serve and what a delight to introduce children to Jesus so they will know this too!

Praise God for New Schools!

We are overjoyed by the first week enrollment for the 7 May Good News Clubs. There have been times when we have no children on the first day in a new school. But not this year! Thank you for praying with us for children in every Club on the first day. The range was from 6 to over 20, leaning toward the high side for most locations.

Praise God for hearing our prayer. Please pray that more children will be added each week, including the last week. We don’t want any child to miss an opportunity to learn of God’s love for them by sending Jesus! For many children, this will be the first, and sadly, might be the only time they hear the Good News.

The March Mercy campaign has delivered $101,650 as of 5/2/2024. We are thankful for each gift and know that many were sacrificial. It means a great deal do us that the Lord moved your hearts to support the local work of evangelism. May God bless your generosity.

Wordless Book Training

On Sunday, May 5, Aaron Keller, Field Missionary and Teacher Trainer, did a training for 11 people at Crossover Community Church. They all loved the resources Aaron gave them and his teaching on how to lead a child to Christ with the Wordless Book. Of the 11 people, they ranged from one first grader to two grandmothers! It’s never too soon, or too late, to learn how to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Praise God with us for:

  1. The seven school sites in three school districts in two counties with Good News Club ministry.
  2. Those at Crossover Community Church who gave their day to learn how to lead a child to Christ! May the Lord use them to reach many children AND adults to know Him as their Savior.
  3. His generosity to provide 101% of the March Mercy Goal! He is faithful in all circumstances and knows the needs of the ministry.

Pray with us for:

  1. Continued growth in enrollment at each May Good News Club and that positive relationships will be developed with school staff.
  2. Pray that families at these new school sites will be moved to apply and train so that the Good News Club can be offered throughout the year next year.
  3. Summer youth to join us for ministry in June and July, experiencing mission across the city and the Valley.
