“Several decades ago, a lady named Dolores was in the throes of raising two very young kids when she heard about Child Evangelism Fellowship®. Life wasn’t going quite how she envisioned but was encouraged through a CEF® song to light up a corner of her world…and that’s just what she did! That year, she was trained on how to teach a Good News Club®. She didn’t have a car, but the Lord provided transportation for her to get to the training. She couldn’t afford the Good News Club materials, but God provided for the cost for them to be covered. She taught Good News Clubs with her mom for many years, bringing her kids up in Good News Club. Decades later, several of her Good News Club students wrote her and told her what an impact she had in their lives. Lighting up a corner of her world was exactly what she did! At one point, the Lord led her to be the CEF Director of Del Norte County, and there she served until her husband became ill and she needed to care for him. She now lives in Arizona. She’s nearly blind and can’t do much–but she can pray! And pray she does. She continues to light up the corner of her world by praying for those the Lord puts on her heart. Imagine the encouragement I found when I realized that–though I have never met her–she had been praying for me and my family and the ministry of CEF NorCal – Northern Counties for months! Even though her vision is poor, she crocheted this beautiful blanket for my baby. It has the five colors of the Wordless Book, which help share the Gospel message. I am so touched by her prayers, by her sweet gift, and for her being faithful to God’s call to light up her corner of the world.” ~By Local Director, Andrea Meyer |
