Our Staff
Andrea Meyer
Local Director
I’m Andrea Meyer, and I sensed the Lord’s calling to be a missionary at the tender age of 6. That calling has never left! I was first introduced to CEF as a teen serving through Christian Youth In Action. When I was 17, I became a Good News Club volunteer, and a few years later I was invited to be on missionary staff. During my early years of being on staff, I also received my BA in Liberal Studies, met my husband Roland, and we had our first two children. In 2020, my family knew that the Lord was leading us to move to Redding, CA where I am blessed to serve as the Director for the Northern Counties chapter. We have also since brought our third child into the world. We love serving as a family with CEF! It’s amazing to see God at work in the lives of children!
FUN FACTS:
- I love going for long walks and bike rides.
- We live in the foothills outside of Redding, and doing burn piles in the wintertime is so much fun!
- I love a week that starts with a Sunday afternoon nap
Melinda Glen
Field Missionary
I’m Melinda Glen and for the last 42 years I worked as a kindergarten teacher and administrator in Christian schools. In this new season of field missionary for CEF, I’m happy to be Nana Melinda as I come alongside Good News Club volunteers in Tehama and Glenn Counties. Seeing children come to know Jesus as Savior is my passion. This is the greatest opportunity ever! I have a BA in early education and in addition was a pastor’s wife, children’s pastor, and school bus driver.
FUN FACTS:
- I am an adopted child, and my three grown children are adopted. We are a multi-racial family.
- I am the proud Nana to 5 beautiful grandchildren who all live in Pennsylvania
- I would walk 5 miles in 100-degree weather for a great street taco! (but since we have the best taco trucks here every 100 yards, gratefully I won’t have to ever do that!)
Sherry Van Fossen
Field Missionary
We are so excited to invite Sherry Van Fossen out of Crescent City to join our team of Field Missionaries. Sherry has actively involved in the ministry of CEF with recruiting new volunteers and helping establish new Good News Clubs. Through her efforts, FIVE Good News Clubs were able to begin in Crescent City within one year. Amazing! Sherry is a joy to serve Jesus alongside and I look forward to seeing what the Lord does as we move her into a more official capacity.
