Our James McKee GNC disbanded during COVID 2020 and so did our team.
This fall, I reached prayer warriors at my church to pray a new Good News Club Team into existence. A talented busy teacher, myself, a para educator, and my wonderful autistic son prayerfully found two more volunteers from our home churches. We kicked off GNC in October. Approximately 20 students joined GNC the first week! Most kids at our school had never experienced a field trip let alone an after school enrichment program. By December our exciting club grew to 29 students!
During our Christmas break, God led me to direct a GNC commercial using our James McKee media team. I was praying we could hopefully still reach more children for Christ. Thirteen eager third graders from my classroom volunteered to help write and perform a quick 3 minute piece while proudly wearing their new GNC T-shirts. Our commercial aired throughout the school and was added to the James McKee website. Suddenly our club grew out of our classroom and library. Now 51 saved GNC students and two more volunteer moms shout the name of Jesus in our awesome multipurpose room. To God be the Glory!

Easter is a BIG DEAL in our Good News Clubs. Easter Party Clubs allow us to celebrate that Jesus is God who came into the world to save us. Lazarus had been dead for 4 days, while everyone was weeping Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me.” Jesus then asks Lazarus’ sisters, “Do you believe this?” In the face of so much sadness in the world, may we rejoice that Jesus is the answer to resurrect our joy and dependence on him. Our students race to wrap their “Lazarus”. Thank you for allowing us to buy all of our Easter curriculum with these fun games and journals to send home for Easter break! |
