Counties
CEF NorCal Northern Counties spans the 15 most northern counties in California. We have everything from the small cities of Chico and Redding, to high desert communities like Alturas. We cover rural mountain towns along with populations along the coast.
According to a 2019 Barna study, the Chico-Redding area was listed as the 19th Most Post-Christian City in America. (The Most Post-Christian Cities in America: 2019 – Barna Group)
That is why our endeavor to share the Good News of Jesus with the children in our community is crucial – for the lives of these children and to bring glory to God!
The Lord has commissioned us to reach every child with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, disciple them in God’s Word, and establish them in a Bible-believing church. As a training and equipping ministry, we accomplish this through partnering with local churches, schools, and community relations to bring the Gospel to the next generation.
What is a Good News Club?
CEF NorCal Northern Counties’ passion is educating children about the Bible.
We believe it sets the standard for living, and helps children grow as they learn about Jesus Christ.
Good News Clubs® are exciting and fun-filled clubs held once a week for 60-90 minutes in public schools!
Each club is led by trained volunteers and includes a clear presentation of the Gospel on a child’s level and an opportunity for children to trust Jesus as their Savior. These clubs use strong discipleship methods that build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth.
Volunteer with CEF Northern Counties
Volunteer are the backbone of CEF’s ministries, and there are a variety of opportunities to serve!
We need volunteers at our outreach booths at community events, to host a Good News Club or Party Club, and to be the teachers in the Good News Clubs.
All of our volunteer are screened and trained to ensure successful Gospel presentations and to stay in alignment with CEF policies.
Volunteers range from 12-82 years old and can be from any denomination or walk of life.

The funding we receive provides these clubs for free to children across our region. It allows us to train, equip and support our volunteers so that they are confident and able to share the Gospel well. It also allows us to provide quality materials at our outreaches.
