Coarsegold Good News Club – Deborah Naigaga While driving to Coarsegold for a Good News Club supervisory visit, dark rain clouds gathered and snow, which rarely happens in the area, was forecast. It started hailing as I parked. The office staff welcomed me and directed me to the Good News Club classroom. As I walked, it began to snow. The kids were filled with excitement for this unique experience. They looked through the window with great enjoyment. The Good News Club volunteers began the day’s lesson on the “Clean Page” of the Wordless Book. How great that God would give us snow on this day to remind us how He cleans us from sin as clean as snow. I watched the precious children take turns praising and praying. I was so happy to see the team teach the children how to pray and offer each one a chance to pray. The volunteer’s encouragement led all the children to participate. As the lesson was finishing, an administrator alerted us that parents were called to pick up their kids because of the heavy snow. Walking to our cars, I was overwhelmed by the volunteer’s commitment. The weather was challenging and could have been distracting but they used it as an object lesson and endured extreme conditions to be there for the children. I am so grateful for all our faithful volunteers; for their dedication and sacrifice to reach children for the Lord. May the Lord bless each and everyone of them! How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7 |
