With You Always Many of us think of Matthew 28 as the chapter of the Great Commission. We use verse 19 often when presenting CEF’s opportunity with the After-School Good News Club. Because our valley is very diverse, I have described that being a missionary volunteer in the public school system allows us to reach children of most nations. We share the Good News of Jesus and make disciples of all who trust in Jesus as their Savior, reaching people of many nations. Yesterday, I was encouraged even more by my pastor when he focused on verse 20. Regardless of how long you have been a Christ-follower, we are always learning to become more like Jesus. Our spiritual maturity will not reach it’s peak in this life. We can always find more ways to think like Jesus, act like Jesus, respond like Jesus and forgive like Jesus. But what a comfort it is to be reminded that we do not do any of these things in our own power. “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We learn to rely on His presence more and more each day. To trust Him in every situation because of this promise and because of His faithfulness in past circumstances. What a privilege we have to reach children for Christ and share how faithful He has been to us personally, as a witness to this promise. It is confidence in God’s Word, that allows us to face new challenges with unknown implications with the same assurance because He has promised He is with us always! What a mighty God we serve and what a delight to introduce children to Jesus so they will know this too! For God’s Glory, Tammy Beers |
