More Questions

“But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is

in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” – 1 Peter 3:15

At a training class last month I shared this verse with the Good News Club® teachers who were gathered and then shared with them some of the questions that children have asked me this summer. Here are some of them:

  • “I am a pansexual. My friends and family tell me that I am going to hell. Is that true?”
  • “How do you know God exists?”
  • “Who created God?”
  • “Different cultures believe differently. How do you know that you are right?”
  • “If God promised to never flood the earth again, why are there still floods in different parts of the world?”
  • “If God promised to never flood the earth again, why are there still floods in different parts of the world?”

I looked at the teachers and asked them, “Are you prepared to answer these questions when children ask?”

Twenty-five years ago, Josh McDowell said the following:

“It used to be that if we didn’t reach people by college it was too late, then high school, then junior high. Now, if we don’t reach them as kids, at five, six, seven, eight years old, we will lose an entire generation.”

Nineteen years ago, George Barna said that “What a child believes by the age of thirteen, they die believing.”

Children are being given answers to their questions right now by an ungodly world. The question is are we prepared to give them the truth, the right answers? Apologetics is now not just for college students and adults. A new generation is asking for answers.

Praise & Prayer

– Praise God for the 152 children who were reached this summer and for the 12 who made professions of faith!

– Praise God that we were able to do ministry in two brand new cities this summer (La Grange and Le Grand), as well as two new locations (Modesto Gospel Mission and Eisenhut Park).

– Praise God for our faithful volunteers. They could do anything this summer, but they chose to spend some of it reaching the children.

– Praise God for God’s provision during the summer months. Pray now for a strong 4th quarter financially to end the year strong.

– Pray that God will send a full-time field staff member in 2023. And pray in faith that God will send us six more staff members in the near future.

– Pray for the Good News Clubs® that are ready to get started this month. Pray for clubs on tap in Le Grand, Stockton, Denair, Salida, Modesto, Turlock, Valley Springs, Murphys, and Groveland.

– Pray for next year’s summer ministry and for God to raise up many young people who will go and teach.

GIFT OF STOCK

About half of all Americans invest in the stock market

About half of all Americans invest in the stock market, but only a small fraction ever consider making gifts of appreciated stock to their favorite ministries.

When giving appreciated assets, such as public stock, you not only receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock, but you also avoid capital gains tax.

This can be much better plan of stewardship than giving cash.

Maximize your giving through the CEF partnership with the Barnabas Foundation for stock gifts. No commission is taken from the gift to reach more children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For more information on how to best give a gift of stock to CEF, click HERE. Simply fill out your contact information, choose “donation information” from the drop down menu, and type “gift of stock” in the “Other” box. We will get back to you promptly with the next steps to take.
