Added Value

On March 11 and 12, Nadya and I were privileged to train 33 people (most of them teens) how to evangelize children using the Wordless Book. We were given five hours with their Mexico missions trip team and we had a blast! On March 17 this team left for Ensenada prepared to minister in many ways, but all were equipped to share the Gospel.

When they return they are going to be sharing the Gospel with the children in their church, and perhaps some of them will decide to minister alongside some of our other volunteers to reach children in the Modesto area. Trainings like this are just one of the many ways that our ministry adds value to the local Church. How can we add value to your church?

– Pray for the upcoming summer ministry, and for 5-Day Clubs® and one-time outreaches in the right locations.

– Pray for a full-time staff member to be hired this Fall.

– Praise God for the children who are now expressing interest in reaching their friends for Christ!

– Pray for two new committee members to join us.

I grew up camping (and still do) at Highland Lakes just below Ebbetts Pass, so Nadya and I LOVE the highway 4 corridor and Calaveras County. The first after school Good News Club that we started back in 2018 is at Michelson Elementary in Murphys.

It is taught by volunteers from Mountain Christian Fellowship in Arnold and is still going strong five years later.

We had a club in Arnold begin in 2018 that lasted for a couple of months, and prior to Covid a club was active at the elementary school in Copperopolis. Just last Fall a brand- new Good News Club was launched in Valley Springs.

Amid God’s beautiful creation, however, comes subtle forms of syncretistic beliefs (a combination of Christianity, Native American, and New Age earth worship). Many children also grow up in poverty and homes that abuse drugs and/or alcohol. These kids need Jesus!

But the distances between locations are far, and travel takes time, especially in the winter months. Some schools don’t have churches near them. Will you pray for God to move in this county?
