Northern Counties Staff

Our Staff

All staff are local missionaries, responsible for raising their full support, just as missionaries deployed around the world.

Andrea Meyer
Director
[email protected]

Hi there! My name is Andrea Meyer. I felt called to be a missionary when I was six years old, and that desire stuck with me throughout all my years growing up. I have a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies through Brandman University.  In 2020, my family and I moved to Redding, CA where I am blessed to serve as the Director for the Northern Counties chapter of CEF®. It’s amazing to see God at work in the lives of children!

FUN FACTS:

  • I love going for long walks
  • Raising chickens bring me a ridiculous amount of joy
  • I love a week that starts with a Sunday afternoon nap

Don’t be a stranger. I look forward to connecting with you!

Melinda Glen
Field Missionary

I’m Melinda Glen and for the last 42 years as a kindergarten teacher and administrator, I’ve been Mrs. Glen.  In this new season of field missionary for CEF, I’m happy to be Miss Melinda as I come along side Good News Club volunteers in Tehama and Glenn counties. Seeing children know Jesus as Savior is my passion ; this is the greatest opportunity ever!  I have a BA in early education and in addition was a pastor’s wife, children’s pastor, and school bus driver.

FUN FACTS:

  • I am an adopted child and my three grown children are adopted.  We are a multi-racial family.
  • I am the proud Nana to 3 (almost 4!) beautiful grandchildren
  • I would walk 5 miles in 100 degree weather for a great street taco!

Sherry Van Fossen
Field Missionary

We are so excited to invite Sherry Van Fossen out of Crescent City to join our team of Field Missionaries. Sherry has actively involved in the ministry of CEF with recruiting new volunteers and helping establish new Good News Clubs. Through her efforts, FIVE Good News Clubs were able to begin in Crescent City within one year. Amazing! Sherry is a joy to serve Jesus alongside and I look forward to seeing what the Lord does as we move her into a more official capacity.

Katherine Sorich

My name is Katherine Sorich and I am so excited to serve with CEF as a field missionary in Butte County. I have worked with children in many capacities from summer camp, to teaching kindergarten through third grade, and being a children’s director at a church. I love sharing the Gospel with children. I am so blessed to be married to the love of my life and have three of my own beautiful children to teach about Jesus.

Fun Facts:

  • I love to sew quilts and garments.
  • The creek behind our house provides hours of fun and exploration.
  • I have served as a teacher in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
