A Ministry with a Legacy Andrea Meyer, Director Everywhere I go, I hear phrases like this:
“I was saved in a Good News Club!” Or “My mom taught a Good News Club for years!” Or “I was first called into ministry through a Good News Club!”
The context changes: We may be at a training, or at a Sunday church share, or perhaps I am just sharing about what I do as small-talk conversation with someone I just met. But the fact remains: The legacy of Child Evangelism Fellowship runs deep. CEF is a worldwide ministry that has been around since 1937. That’s 85 years of the Gospel going into the hearts of children—the most fruitful mission field in the world! Are children today different than they were 85 years ago? Of course! They’re different than they were ten years ago. But the Gospel message remains the same, and a child’s receptivity to it has not changed. So, we continue carrying on the legacy of CEF. We continue boldly sharing the Good News of Jesus with children. We share it in homes. We share it in schools. We share it in community centers, apartments, and parks. We share it wherever the doors open for us to share it. In ten years, twenty years, fifty years, there will be believers who are walking this earth and their testimony will read: “I was saved in a Good News Club!” Or “My mom taught a Good News Club for years!” Or “I was first called into ministry through a Good News Club.” |
