An Answer to Prayer After Many Years

by Local Director, Andrea Meyer

God laid it on the heart of a pastor in Willits and his wife to start a Good News Club. In January, seven people were trained in Willits, and from it they hoped to launch two clubs.

After we approached the school district, we learned that all of the kids were either picked up immediately after school, or they were bused over to the Willits Kids’ Club, which is a nonprofit organization separate from the school district. It only made sense to go share Jesus where the kids are!

Nervously I placed a call to the Executive Director of the Kids’ Club. Honestly, I was almost certain our request would be declined.

The opposite happened! As I introduced myself to the Director and shared about the Good News Club we wanted to start, emotion clouded her voice. She said, “I have been praying for years for this kind of an impact at our club. Yes, we want you to come and do the Good News Club!”

The Good News Club training in Willits was so much fun!

Classroom with people of all ages

Since September 1, we have trained 115 people on how to share Jesus with kids! Here volunteers are practicing sharing the Gospel on one another using the Wordless Book.

That’s a Wrap on our *Shine* Jr. Leadership Retreat!

by Field Missionary, Soledad Torres

In February, we held our Jr Leadership Retreat in Red Bluff. This year our theme was “Shine” as we wanted to equip youth on how to shine their light for Jesus. The day was filled with three key lessons on identity, how Jesus modeled leadership, and how to share the Wordless Book.

We were amazed to have 41 kids register for this event and 12 leaders help! You could feel the energy and eagerness in the room of kids who loved the Lord, wanted to grow closer to Him, and share Him with others. There was an 11-year-old girl who, after the Wordless Book class, was excited that she could now share Jesus with her friends. During our testimony time, she shared in front of everyone how before she could only pray for her friends, but now she could share the gospel with them!

No Passport? No Problem!

Christian Youth In Action is a missionary training camp for teenagers to learn how to share the Gospel with kids through exciting evangelistic outreaches. They spend a week at camp where they are trained and equipped to go back to their community to tell kids about Jesus. Year after year, we see young people’s lives change as they recognize that God will use them to reach others with the Gospel.
