IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARSHA ROGERS November 27, 1935 – September 25, 2022 Marsha Delia was born in Los Angeles, CA to Thomas and Carmen (Chavez) Tellez. She grew up helping in the family’s restaurant during the challenging economic times of WWII. After her childhood, she attended Fresno State College majoring in Physical Education. It was there that she met her future husband, Darryl Rogers. They were married in 1958. She supported him throughout his football coaching career at California State College at Hayward, Fresno State College, San Jose State University, Michigan State University, Arizona State University, the Detroit Lions, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Southern Connecticut State University as Athletic Director. During these years she raised 3 daughters Stacy, Keely and Jamie. Keely was their life long companion as she was mentally impaired or “mentally remarkable” as they preferred. They chose to retire back in Fresno, California to be near grandchildren and return back to where their love began. During her youth years she began her walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus. She joined Bible Study Fellowship after college and later became a leader. She had a personal relationship with Jesus throughout her life. Her family was her number one priority after God. Her favorite verse was Proverbs 3:5-6. She developed a hobby and passion for unique antiques, gaining a wealth of knowledge about them over the years. After retirement she became an antique dealer and had a shop in Clovis, CA. She involved Darryl in going to auctions and hunting for pieces she loved. Another passion was giving her time and energy to Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), which has after school Good News Clubs. This year is the Fourth Annual Darryl Rogers Golf Classic which helps support CEF. She was diagnosed with ALS at 85 years of age and passed away September 25, 2022 almost one year from her diagnosis. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Stacy (Brian) Dawson and Jamie (Jon) Collard, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 3 elder siblings Don Tellez, Inez Wilson and Tom Tellez. She was preceded in death by her daughter Keely and her husband Darryl. Marsha will be buried in Clovis, CA next to her husband of 60 years and their special daughter, Keely. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to CEF NorCal, CVS 1322 E Shaw Ave. #110 Fresno CA 93710. |
