The purpose of CEF(R) is to “evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a local church for Christian Living.” But what does that look like, exactly? Ravi is a five-year-old boy from Fair Oaks Elementary School in Oakdale, who attends the Good News Club(R) held down the street from his school at the Oakdale Family Church. Ravi’s mother, after receiving the club invitation and registration form, met with the church staff to check out the location and to see if the club would be a good fit for her son. She was excited about what she learned, and not only signed both of her children up for the Good News Club, but she also started to attend a Bible study at the church, and began bringing her children to the Wednesday night program. On the third week of the Good News Club, Ravi responded to the Gospel invitation, prayed to receive Christ, and verbalized his newfound faith to two of the volunteers. After the club he and his sister received their first Bibles from the church staff, and the two were all smiles! So, Ravi received Christ at a church sponsored Good News Club, on the church’s campus, where he will now be discipled, and where he and his family now attend Wednesday night services. It is our desire that this be the story for every one of our church sponsored clubs. We want to see the local church grow because the time, energy, and finances that they invest in their Good News Club. If that would interest your church, let us know, and we will help you start a Good News Club of your own. |
