Let’s Go for a Walk!

Let’s seek the Lord together and ask Him to open doors for us to proclaim the mystery of Christ in Chico! We will meet in the field just west of Caper Acres in Bidwell Park at 3 pm. (The field runs parallel to Woodland Ave.) We’ll have a word of encouragement and then go for a prayer walk around the block surrounding the Chico Unified School District Office. Those who are able will pray and walk around the block 7 times. However, we will stop and pray as a group after our first lap in case you need to return to your vehicle.

And We’re Off!

The school year started off with some FUN Gospel-centered activities! In Crescent City, we had a Gospel maze where kids went through the different colored rooms and heard the Gospel through the Wordless Book. 47 kids went through the maze and 19 of them made a first-time profession of faith in Jesus!

We’ve been at ministry fairs in Chester and Red Bluff to share about Good News Clubs and invite others to join in what the Lord is doing in our local elementary schools. Praise God – He used these opportunities to shore up some of our Good News Club teams and launch a brand-new club.

We also had a fun time participating in the Yeshua Fest in Anderson, where another 17 kids were able to hear about Jesus. Three of those precious souls indicated that they were trusting in HIM for the first time. Praise the Lord! (Though no one would have complained if the weather was a smidge cooler.)

On September 21, we had our annual Back-to-School Rally in Red Bluff. It was a wonderful afternoon of connecting with our ministry teams across several different counties as we geared up for the new school year!

Altogether, we are blessed by the 100+ volunteers serving on Good News Club teams this year. Through their faithful efforts, we are starting off the year with around 25 Good News Clubs, and we’re excited for the many more to come.

On November 16 we are hosting our first Go & Tell Training. This is designed for kids ages 8-11. They will learn how to share the Gospel with their friends using the Wordless Book. They’ll practice in small groups, play fun review games, and have fun learning how to share their faith without fear!

Date: November 16

Time: 9 am to 2 pm Where: Grace Baptist Church, Redding (3782 Churn Creek Road, Redding)

Cost is $10 for materials and lunch

I was reflecting on my own childhood and the burden that I always felt for my friends who were lost and separated from Jesus. I would have been so excited if I had the opportunity to learn how to talk about Jesus and invite others to know him as well.

Will you encourage kids you know (whether personally, at church or in your Good News Club) to attend? It’s going to be a great day!

Our next Good News Club training will be held on October 26 at the Paradise Evangelical Free Church. If you’re looking to get trained to serve in Good News Clubs, or if you want additional training for Sunday School, we invite you to join us.

Welcome to the Team!

We are grateful to welcome Melinda Glen to our team of CEF missionaries for the Glenn & Tehama Counties area.

Melinda writes:

“I’m Melinda Glen and for the last 42 years as a kindergarten teacher and administrator, I’ve been Mrs. Glen. In this new season of field missionary for CEF, I’m happy to be Miss Melinda as I come along side Good News Club volunteers in Tehama and Glenn counties. Seeing children know Jesus as Savior is my passion ; this is the greatest opportunity ever! I have a BA in early education and in addition was a pastor’s wife, children’s pastor, and school bus driver.

FUN FACTS:

  • I am an adopted child and my three grown children are adopted. We are a multi-racial family.
  • I am the proud Nana to 4 beautiful grandchildren
  • I would walk 5 miles in 100-degree weather for a great street taco!

Nothing will stop God from reaching kids with the Gospel!

Join us in praising Him for what He has done, and praying for the ministry to continue to grow.

Every Child. Every Nation. Every Day.
