SUMMER MINISTRY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN WITH CHRISTIAN YOUTH IN ACTION

Christian Youth in Action® (CYIA™) trains teens and adults how to share the Gospel with children in a 5-Day Club, Sunday School, short-term Mission Trips, or other settings.

Our intensive training is held during the month of June for six days and includes hands-on experience. Young people (ages 13+) experience life-changing mission work without a passport, airfare or shots!!

Join us and see what the Lord can do through a young person who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him by reaching kids for Christ!

YOU CAN HELP BY SPONSORING A TEEN TO ATTEND CYIA!

As a chapter, we would like to sponsor the first five young people from the East Bay who sign up to commit to planting seeds of faith through 5-Day Clubs this summer. They will be trained, equipped, and encouraged alongside the San Jose CYIA Team on June 15 and June 17-21.

WHAT ARE THE TEENS SAYING ABOUT CYIA?

Joell: It wasn’t easy, but with all the studying and hours practicing, it was all worth it. When you get to be a part of a child coming to Christ, it is such a joy!

Juno: I learned that teaching a club is really fun! I enjoyed being with kids.

Yuna: I loved how CYIA doesn’t baby you, but instead challenges you and inspires you to change the world.

Emily: I learned how to teach the Bible in an engaging way, and to trust God for the outcome.

Samuel: CYIA gave me the tools to show children God’s love for them. By making personal connections, kids were able to see Christ’s influence in my life and desire His presence in theirs.

Do you know a youth aged 13 to 21? Please share this newsletter with him or her! They can spend the summer surrounded with like-minded believers with a passion for serving God and sharing the Gospel with kids. CYIA equips them to be organized teachers and develops them as leaders. As they are challenged to study, practice, and take on more responsibility in clubs, their confidence and relationship with God grows. They will be ready for local missions, international missions, Sunday school ministry, and so much more! Thank you.

Good News Club Praises

April, our 1st grade girl, received Jesus into her heart. She has been very enthusiastic.
Anna, our 3rd grade girl, is really reading and enjoying reading her Bible on a daily basis.
Jacob and Isaac, brothers who have come for 3 years, are reading their Bibles at night.
I thank God for the children; their attendance and attention have been excellent and often surprising. They are learning eagerly, and they remember the lessons from week to week!

Praise God for all the children’s lives He has impacted this school year through our faithful volunteers!

THE TIME IS NOW

“Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation.’” Corinthians 6:2b

Many people do not believe that the time is now for a child to receive the gift of salvation. “Give them the time to mature so they can make a real decision,” they say.

In Matthew 14, we read of hungry people whom Jesus’s disciples wanted to dismiss.

But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; YOU give them something to eat!” Matthew 14:16.

In other words, the time is now for them to eat. Feed them now.

We at CEF know that the time is now to feed the hungry children! We feed them Bible memory verses, Word Ups, Bible lessons, songs, Quiet Time reflections, quiz questions.

The 19th-century evangelist D.L. Moody was asked by his wife after one of his meetings, “How many people responded to the Gospel tonight? “Two-and-a-half,” he replied. “Two children and one adult.”

Today is the day of salvation for kids who have a lifetime ahead of them to enjoy God, to glorify Him, to serve Him and grow in Him. The time is now!

Our Fair/Outreach Ministry had the opportunity to partner with the Gospel Outreach and local ministries on Saturday, April 20. On this day, 18 heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and 2 made first-time professions in Jesus as their Savior. Also, 2 students from our recent Go and Tell training participated in the event. Glory to GOD!

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who made our “The Time is Now” fundraising banquets this year a huge success! We had so much fun celebrating with everyone who attended the amazing work that God is doing through CEF East Bay. God has been so good to this ministry, and we are grateful for the $40,144 that was raised towards our 2024 annual budget. Thank you all for your generosity!

We are continuing to pray and ask the Lord to raise the funds for us to reach 1500 children with the Gospel this school year. As a chapter, we have shared the Gospel with more children this year than all last year, and we still have several months to go!
We held successful fundraising banquets in Walnut Creek and Oakland, with over 360 people attending!

Prayer Requests

We would like at least 5 students from the East Bay to enroll in the June CYIA training.
Pray for an increase of Good News Clubs in with volunteer hosts for the clubs in the new school year.

Nothing will stop God from reaching His children with the Gospel.
