Lord, I want to see

CEF

The story of the Blind Beggar in Luke 18 was the first lesson I learned to teach when I was trained to be a volunteer in Good News Club. I introduced the lesson by having the children close their eyes and imagine what life would be like if they could not see. How challenging it would be not to work or cook food, or see the beauty of God’s creation.

However, helping the children in my Club understand that they had a problem bigger than blindness was the transition to the Gospel. Teaching them that they were born with sin, doing things their way instead of God’s way, separated them from our Holy God. But that God loved them so much He provided the one and only way to have their sins forgiven. He sent Jesus, His one and only Son, to take their punishment so that their sins could be washed away when they believed in Jesus, who He is and what He did for them on the cross.

With my condition of complete blindness in my left eye, God brought this passage to mind and gently reminded me that this is a hard season. But, He has already provided for my greatest need – He has forgiven me of my sins and promised me eternal life because I love and believe that Jesus is the perfect Son of God. He rose from the dead and is alive and He will take those who believe in Him to His heavenly home for eternity!

This is the message the children need to hear. Many of them live in broken homes, some may be abused, most feel lonely and afraid but they need to know that God created them with a purpose. He wants a relationship with them each day! It is a great joy to lead a child to Christ. I am so thankful for all of you who pray for the ministry and donate to support our financial need so that many children can meet Jesus. Thank you for your faithfulness!

With His Love,

Tammy
