Man’s Plans vs God’s Plans

And now I will tell you the truth: Behold, three more kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than them all; by his strength, through his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece.
Daniel 11:2
Perhaps nothing raises as many questions in the life of a Christian as matters of God’s timing – especially regarding answers to prayer. We have our ideas of when things should happen, only to discover that God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Our faith is then challenged to conform our understanding to His revealed plans.
Even godly believers like Daniel wrestled with God’s timing. After he discovered that the Jews’ captivity would last seventy years (Daniel 9), Daniel probably believed that all the Jews would soon be back in Judea rebuilding the temple and Jerusalem. And some did return, but the process of rebuilding was difficult. So God sent an angel to Daniel (Daniel 10) to explain that the next several hundred years were going to be complicated (Daniel 11). Daniel had to adjust his plans to God’s larger purpose.
We must do the same. When things don’t happen on our schedule or to our expectations, we must submit our plans to God’s and walk by faith.
Today’s Turning Point, Dr. David Jeriemiah
Praise God with us:
  • His plans are perfect, even when not fully understood. He has our welfare in mind and He is stretching us to be holy, not happy. But with Jesus there is joy!
  • There are indications that the spread of the virus is declining in several measurable ways! May the Lord continue to heal our land and restore health to those who are afflicted..
  • For the natural seasons and the wonderful spring weather and rain as well as snow He continues to provide to our Valley.
Ask God with us:
  • To provide healing for those suffering with Covid-19 and to bring comfort to the thousand’s who have lost a loved one to this disease. May friends rally and support them as best they can during this period of grief.
  • To protect healthcare workers, first responder’s and those providing food and services during this time which puts them each at risk physically. May people be grateful to all those who continue to work so hard and express appreciation to them.
  • To reveal His plans for individuals who are feeling desperate so they will not lose hope. May they lean into Jesus, trusting His plans and be receptive where their plans need to be adjusted personally, professionally and spiritually.
