Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF) where trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, churches, parks, and apartment complexes—anywhere children can gather safely and with their parents’ permission.
Each club includes:
A clear presentation of the Gospel
An opportunity for children to trust Jesus as their Savior
Discipleship training to help them grow in their faith and character
Children are also encouraged to connect with and attend a local church.
Club Details:
Cost: All clubs are FREE to the children
Ministry partners (churches and individuals) support the ministry through donations to keep the program free for all participating children.
Schedule: Clubs meet for about 90 minutes after school, typically from mid-September through MayRegistration: A parent/guardian-signed registration form is required for each child
Registration forms are available on our Registration Page under each club name
Each 90-minute club includes fun and meaningful activities led by trained and screened teachers, such as:
Dynamic Bible lessons that teach God’s truth in ways children understand
Scripture memory verses to help them hide God’s Word in their hearts
Creative learning activities, crafts, and games
Songs that reinforce biblical truths and bring joy to learning
Gospel-centered discussion that builds faith and understanding
Can We Really Teach the Bible in Public Schools?
Yes! In 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools after hours on the same terms as any other community group. That means children in the U.S. can freely learn about Jesus at school—with their parents’ permission.
Who Teaches a Good News Club?
Each club is led by trained Christian volunteers from local churches and the community who love children and desire to see them know Jesus.
All volunteers:
Receive training through CEF
Sign the CEF Statement of Faith
Abide by CEF’s policies and standards
Are background screened according to both CEF’s Child Protection Policy and California law for youth workers
How Can I Volunteer
CEF East Bay is always looking for caring volunteers who want to make an eternal difference!
When you volunteer, you’ll receive training, support, and the blessing of seeing God work in the hearts of children each week. The more people that volunteers, the more clubs that open—and the more children that will hear the Gospel!
