A New Season Begins

Last week we celebrated the conclusion of the Good News Club season, thanking the Lord for allowing us to be at 84 sites for ministry. Today, we formally launch the summer season. There is an energy when summer arrives that prompts most of us to do more fun things and to be outside – until it’s 105 degrees!

We are excited about the young people who are applying to be summer volunteers, reaching children for Christ in neighborhood parks, special community locations and migrant camps throughout our service area. It all starts with training which is scheduled for next week. It’s a season for courage, doing something new for the first time, usually feeling a little nervous the first time you apply new skills. Will you join us in praying over these young people? Pray that they will prepare their hearts, leaning on the Lord to guide and direct them, knowing He is the one who is at work. It’s such a privilege to be used by the Lord to lead a child to Christ!

Please pray with us to confirm many locations for ministry and for many children to hear the Good News of Jesus from these excited new missionaries! We want to be faithful and disciplined workers, doing our part for His eternal harvest.

Debbie Visscher Retires

For over 7 years, Debbie has worked as our bookkeeper and executive assistant. She has been a dear friend and CEF family member, bonding with all of us from the first day. She has always jumped in to help with ministry needs, lending support and care for each of us over the years.

We celebrated Debbie with a retirement lunch on May 30th. It was fun to recall experiences we have shared over the years. Though we will miss not seeing her week to week, we will stay friends from now through eternity. We praise God for this season and ask His protection and provision for Debbie and her husband, Bud, in the years to come. We shared a celebratory toast with sparkling cider. It was a special luncheon for a special person. Thank you Debbie. We love you!!

2. A strong finish to the school year for Good News Club ministry in 20 school districts throughout the Valley.
3. Arianna Knee’s return to work full-time over the summer as a Field Missionary.

1. More applications for summer youth missionaries. This is the final week to apply and be processed in time for training.
2. Confirmation of sites for summer outreach and mild weather as volunteers are deployed.
3. The team as they finalize training, making it fun and fruitful for ministry this summer.
