Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant

A dear friend and long-term Good News Club volunteer, Cheri Risch, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7th. Cheri and her husband, Forest, served at the Cole Elementary School in Clovis for many years. She was not only the Coordinator for the Good News Club, Cheri was also very involved in community and international prayer initiatives, Christian Educators and protection of the unborn. She was a strong and compassionate leader, teaching with enthusiasm and grace. Cheri’s passing came very quickly and I ask you to prayer for her husband Forest, their sons and their entire family at this time. Praise God, Jesus is the resurrection and the life and whoever believes in Him, though he die, yet shall he live.

Child Evangelism Fellowship and Moms In Prayer

Ruth Diaz, Field Missionary, and Angie Andrelus of Moms in Prayer International, worked together to plan, promote and present a special event on how the two ministries work to reach children, pray for them and benefit the children who attend the Afterschool Good News Club.

Parkside Chapel in Visalia hosted the event on Saturday, June 8 and we thank them for this courtesy! Several people expressed interest in Good News Club ministry. We seek other opportunities to raise awareness of the importance of both these ministries.

Reading Extravaganza – Storyland

On June 8th, our Superhero’s were in full force at a popular place in Fresno. Reading Heart’s 6th Annual Reading Extravaganza was held at Storyland. This fun and free, family event draws lots of people to receive free books. We were there to share the free Gospel of Jesus Christ for the second year in a row. On this day, 52 people heard the Good News and 12 responded to the invitation to believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Thank you Arianna Knee, Field Missionary, for leading this team!

Celebrating Deborah’s Birthday

It’s been my priority to recognize birthday’s of each member of our team. This week it was for Deborah! What a wonderful fellowship we had as we enjoyed a potluck Taco Salad Bar! Deborah is such a lovely god-fearing woman, kind and gentle, determined and focused on reaching children for Christ! Join us in wishing her a happy birthday and a blessed year!

Praise God with us for:

1. Wonderful saints, like Cheri and Forest Risch, the Lord brings to our ministry and the privilege to know and serve with them.
2. The joy of celebrating life, as we did with Deborah last week for her birthday.
3. The promise of eternal life for all who trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, as their Lord and Savior.

Pray with us for:

1. The summer youth missionary training on Tuesday, 6/11. May the staff bless each student and may each student finish strong and have the blessing of leading children to Christ this summer.
2. The Risch family as the adapt to Cheri’s homegoing and adjust to day to day life without her. May the Lord comfort and provide for their every need.
3. The launch of the Good News Club Darryl Rogers Golf Tournament next week.
