Welcome Back

It was a delight to welcome back Arianna Knee as our newest Field Missionary! Arianna worked as a summer missionary last year. She was a wonderful staff member, following her experience as a Good News Club volunteer. She left to attend college out of state, but committed to return this summer as a Field Missionary! Not only will she be key in our recruiting and training of youth workers this summer, she will lead ministry and help us prepare for the upcoming Good News Clubs in the fall.

Last week she met with the ministry staff to plan and organize the summer season of ministry. The Lord has provided for each season of ministry, especially in Fresno since before CEF was incorporated back in 1937. What a joy to see Him raising up the next generation of missionaries. It’s sometimes easy to overlook or miss the critical need for missionaries in our own neighborhoods. The Lord has made it clear that children are important to Him and He has burdened our hearts to reach children for Christ.

We anticipate an exciting season of summer ministry and pray for a fruitful harvest, growing the Kingdom of God, one child at a time.

Celebrating and Planning

Deborah Naigaga, Director-in-training, and Lynnese Castle, Ministry Coordinator met with volunteers from Madera County last week. They expressed appreciation for their faithfulness and celebrated their commitment to reach the children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ at schools.

We are seeking to expand ministry throughout Madera County and seek your prayers with this request. We want to return to many schools in the area but need to replace retired volunteers to do so. Please pray for additional volunteers.

May Good News Clubs

Clubs continue to grow at each site for this abbreviated season. Volunteers are sharing reports of children responding to the Gospel and their desire to return to these new schools next fall.

School staff have also been supportive and encouraging! We have now held Good News Club in just over 50% of all Fresno Unified elementary schools – the third largest school district in California! Our goal is to have ministry in every elementary school in all four counties.

Praise God with us for:

1. The final 2 weeks of May Clubs. May no child miss the opportunity to attend and learn about Jesus.
2. The support from each school site and the growth of Good News Clubs in Fresno Unified, the most of any other year.
3. Arianna’s return to the team as a Field Missionary and all she has to contribute to our next season of ministry.

Pray with us for:

1. Swift approval of schools being requested for next fall as volunteers renew their commitment to return to ministry.
2. Pray for replacement volunteers for all who may not be able to return as well as new volunteers, specifically in Madera County for expansion.
3. Complete healing for me, Tammy, as I recover from my 10th surgery on my left eye. May there be no complications and may there be no other required surgeries.
