Happy To Be There

While we aren’t aware of every circumstance that children face each day, we know generally that children living in today’s world deal with chaotic home lives and societal pressures that would have been hard to fathom just a generation ago. A prayer that Nadya and I like to pray is that when children enter our Good News Clubs, they would feel the peace of Christ and be at ease for the 60-90 minutes they are there.

I recently visited the club that meets at Dena Boer Elementary in Salida. Linda Hollis, one of our committee members, and the lead teacher at the club shared with me that one little boy opened up and shared just what Good News Club means to him. “When I come here I just feel so happy”, he told Linda. We are unaware of what his home life is like, but we do know that when he steps foot in the Good News Club, He experiences the peace of God that radiates out of Linda and her fellow teachers. Genuine love is infectious, and it makes me “feel so happy” to know that the children in our clubs are feeling the love of Christ each week.
